• The installation ceremony of the newly elected office bearers of IVA for the year 2007 was held on 14th January 2007 at Dr G Nirmalan memorial Hall, Veterinarian’s building, Thiruvananthapuram
• First executive meeting held on 14th January 2007 at Veterinarian’s building, Thiruvananthapuram.
• The Farm Journalism Award Ceremony and state level workshop on Farm Journalism with special emphasis to visual media was held on 22nd and 23rd February 2007 at Museum Auditorium Hall,Thiruvananthapuram

Shri Mangode Radhakrishnan MLA was the chief guest. Shri John Brittas, Managing Director Kairali TV inaugurated the workshop. Awards were distributed on the following categories.

• Best article published in the daily written by a journalist
• Best programme in the visual media telecast
• Best photo feature published
• Best article of a veterinarian published

State office bearers of IVA, KVSSA, AHOAK and a large chunk of common public participated in the function.

• Third executive held on 28th April 2007 at Hotel Span at Kozhikode.
• Fourth executive held on 20th May 2007 at Yatri Nivas at Thrissur.

World Zoonoses Day – celebrated in  July 6th of every year

A zoonosis is a disease that is transmitted from animals to man. The most talked of these days are leptospirosis, and "mad cow disease" (not prevalent in India), but by far the deadliest of all is rabies.
It is essential to have oneself and one's animals vaccinated, dewormed and protected against these diseases. All food animals need to also be regularly vaccinated, or their meat would not be fit for consumption. However, most people have a rather casual attitude towards above said activities , some even fear it. World Zoonoses Day is celebrated on July 6 every year to bring the problem into people's consciousness, and remind them to take action.
