Indian Veterinary Association, Kerala
began publishing its official organ "Mriga Sampath"
in 1990. This publication was brought out every quarter. It carried
scientific articles, field experiences and literary works of veterinarians
besides news on organisational activities. This journal ceased to exist
when the new publication JIVA (Journal of Indian Veterinary Association,
Kerala) started in 1996.
JIVA (Journal of Indian Veterinary Association,
Kerala)
JIVA replaced the former publication, 'Mriga Sampath' of IVA Kerala
in 1996. It carried articles related to the profession, scientific articles
by the members, interview with dignitaries, book/web reviews and organisational
news. Even though JIVA was intended to be published as a Quarterly,
this could be published only once or twice a year due to high cost of
printing and lack of revenues. The cover stories, articles and editorials
led to debates and controversies and attracted media attention.
